I am writing in support of the keep Bonnyrigg Leisure Centre campaign. This building should not be demolished. Bonnyrigg is in much need of further community facilities such as soft play, cafe, public toilets, youth club, etc. Bonnyrigg has grown so much in size over the last 5-10 years, but there has been no extra provision of social or community facilities for its residents, especially in the central Bonnyrigg area.
As a mother of two young children, the re-opening of the public toilets in the park is vital, especially during the summer months. A new softplay would be well utilised by my family and so many other families living in the area. Softplay is fantastic for little ones to have some exercise when the weather is bad, and gives them a safe and exciting environment to play, climb and explore. It also gives parents the opportunity to socialise and meet other local parents.
Please do reconsider the demolition of this building - it could be turned around and become such an asset to our community.
Regards
Helen
