We refuse to be drawn into Midlothian Council tactic of forcing one community group to compete against another by asking them to put in competing plans! That's why we have not put in a business plan. They should create time for cooperation. The Neighbourhood Plan is designed to do just that. The Community should not be blamed for being “too late” when this opportunity has still never been formally advertised. Its only through this campaign, and you folk on liking and sharing posts on Facebook, that people are starting to know. The building is big enough for every group to collaborate and get what they want. The Council should take responsibility for its mistake and give Bonnyrigg a year. Anything less is shameless abdication of responsibility on an absurd scale. Demolition of this building is not a responsible disposal of the building. Its a symbol of this councils inefficiency and laziness. Well, Bonnyrigg Leisure centre is too valuable a community inheritance to let Midlothian council waste. Time to step up to the bar on this one Midlothian Council.
